This is a big week for Orizaba and crew. On Thursday most of us will be taking sea planes from Seattle to Victoria, BC. On Friday we'll get the boat ready and enjoy the festive atmosphere surrounding Swiftsure. On Saturday we'll join over 200 other boats taking part in the race out the Strait of Juan de Fuca and back. The race can take anywhere from a record time of under 9 hours to 24 hours or more.
After finishing the race and cleaning up, we'll be getting the boat ready for the trip down to San Francisco. That trip will start Monday with a detour to Port Angeles, WA to clear US Customs. Once cleared we'll head down the Strait of Juan de Fuca again, this time turning left when we reach the Pacific. If all goes as planned we'll proceed straight to San Francisco Bay for a Saturday arrival.
If we can get all of the electronic gear working correctly we'll try to post updates while underway.
